The City of Regina in Saskatchewan, Canada
Regina is the major commercial centre of southern Saskatchewan, Canada. It is the provincial capital and was previously the territorial headquarters of the North-West Territories, of which today's provinces of Saskatchewan and Alberta originally formed part.
It was also the district headquarters of the District of Assiniboia. The city was named in 1882 after Queen Victoria, i.e. Victoria Regina, by her daughter Princess Louise, wife of the then-Governor General the Marquess of Lorne.
The city is a cultural and commercial metropole for both southern Saskatchewan and adjacent areas in the neighbouring American states of North Dakota and Montana. It attracts numerous visitors for the vitality of its commerce, theatre, concerts and restaurants and to its summer agricultural fair.

The Multicultural Council has started an Immigrant Recognition Sculpture Project to keep history alive by recognizing the contributions that immigrants and their families have made, and continue to make, to the city.
Two permanent artworks commissioned and installed on the pedestals located outside City Hall in Queen Elizabeth II Court.The entire project will be funded by donations from the public through the sale of commemorative plaques to be installed along with the artworks. Individuals, families and groups are invited to donate in honour of those who immigrated to Regina during the past century.
