Skiing, originally a practical way of getting from one place to another over snowy terrain, has evolved into a popular sport with many different variants. The earliest forms resembled the cross-country or Nordic style.

There are many different types of skiing, and many different types of competitive events are held across Canada. Unlike in Northern Europe where the word usually refers to cross-country, in Canada the term generally refers to the downhill variant.

You can heli-ski or heli-board in the powder snow for just one day or go for as many days as your legs will take.
